Family Fun Night

on July 25 as the AC Surf host the Quebec Les Capitales. Our own Assumption Youth Choir will join our Pastor in singing "Take Me Out to The Ball Game" during the 7th Inning Stretch from the field, and as an added bonus there will be FIREWORKS at the games end.

“EAGLES IN THE WILD” Paul VI High School Alumni Association wil be hosting on Sunday, August 3, 2008 from 2-6 pm. The event will be held on 2nd Street and Olde New Jersey Avenue in North Wildwood at Husky McCluskey’s. The price of tickets is $25. For further information call 856-858-4900 ext. 36.

HOLY SPIRIT GIRLS BASKETBALL BEEF AND BEER
Basketball team, coaches and parents will host their 8th annual Beef and Beer Fundraiser on Saturday, August 16th from 6pm to 10pm at Mac’s Restaurant on Shore Road in Somers Point. Tickets are $20. WICKED” – Our Lady of Sorrows Travel Group is sponsoring a trip to WICKED at the Gershwin Theatre in New York on October 4, 2008. The bus will leave their church hall at 9:00 am. PAUL VI CLASS OF 1988 – 20 YEAR REUNION will be held on Friday, November 28th from 7 – 11pm at the Venice Plaza, 281 Cross Keys Rd., Berlin. Cost is $75 per person which includes 4 hour open bar, buffet and DJ. For further information email: Jennifer.Nellany@friedfrank.com

 

Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration – Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, Wabash Ave, Linwood had Adoration scheduled 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. If you would like to sign up for an hour of your choice, please call the rectory at 927-1154. If shorter visits are preferred, please join in the Adoration at your convenience. Families are welcome. Come and visit with God.

Elizabeth Ministry - share the sacredness of life in your own parish. Elizabeth Ministry is a parish-based outreach to women in special times of motherhood. It follows the example of the scriptural story of the Visitation by bringing together women who share a similar story. This like-to-like ministry is a strong respect-life witness. Holy Grounds – St. Rose of Lima Young Adult Ministry in Haddon Heights, in conjunction with the Diocesan Office of Youth and Young Adults, will present a gathering that blends music, ministry and Christian dialogue in an effort to encourage clarification and camaraderie in Christ’s name. Holy Redeemer Hospice
is in need of volunteers to assist our patients and caregivers. The volunteers assist the family and patient by providing time for the caregiver to run errands, conversation with the patient, reading, maybe a walk outside….This gives the caregiver a break and time to plan some needed relief as they care for their loved one. Wheels of Love – Do you know someone who has been deprived of their ability to walk due to illness or disease. Wheels of Love helps Seniors who live with respiratory disorders, arthritis, cardiovascular disease, have a mobility limitation and difficulty in propelling a standard wheelchair, to receive a powerchair or scooter paid for by Medicare. For eligibility information on Wheels of Love please call 1-866-631-3028.

Our Bereavment Ministry is looking for additional volunteers to meet with our bereaving families.The ministry assist the family planning the Mass by helping them choose the readings and hymns.
