church of the assumption -parish ministries

In the Body of Christ, there are a wonderful variety of ministries, which are especially evident when we gather as a community to worship God. On the earliest pages of the Christian Scriptures, St. Paul speaks of our Christian diakonia, which is translated in our English Bibles as “ministry” or “service”. In Romans, he speaks of our different ministries and says that we must work together similar to how the different parts of the human body work together for the good of the whole body.

Service and ministry are key themes of the Gospels, and are a sign of our discipleship. Please consider taking an active role in one of our Lay Ministries…it will change the way you see life, yourself, and others. Lay Ministers list their involvement as among the most rewarding parts of their lives. Please feel free to inquire as to what role you can take in our Ministries…no contribution is ever too small!

We invite you, as a member of our faith community, to consider the part you might want to play in this rewarding work.

For a short description of a particular ministry: locate the ministry under one of the categories: liturgy and worship , community life , outreach and councils .
